Dear Editor:
This letter is written in regards to the proposed new fire hall for the Town of Osoyoos.
Have the following questions been answered?
Why did the town, with taxpayers money, pay four times the market value for agricultural land that is to be used to house the new fire hall?
Who was their appraiser?
The fire department presently has two fire halls, one on the east side that holds two fire trucks and one on Main Street that holds four fire trucks.
Isn’t that enough for a small community like ours?
If a new fire hall is built, what will happen to the old one?
Will the town office expand to take up the additional space?
We cant forget that more extravagance means more tax dollars.
These are important questions that need to be answered.
