Update: Three occupants of a helicopter were taken to hospital yesterday after the aircraft tipped over on its side at Checkmate winery south of Oliver.
Oliver RCMP Sgt. Don Wrigglesworth said he didn’t have details on what caused the crash because it wasn’t a police investigation. He noted the RCMP will assist the National Transportation Safety Board in its review of the incident.
The Oliver Fire Department reported that the occupants of the helicopter extricated themselves from the aircraft after the crash landing. They were treated by paramedics and transported to hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown.
