A high-density residential space in Osoyoos is saying they are being treated unfairly in comparison to single family dwellings in town when it comes to water restrictions currently in effect.
The Town of Osoyoos is entering Stage 2 water restrictions early, getting ahead of summer conditions and water levels that aren’t looking optimal for residents.
The Town of Oliver has rescinded Stage 3 Domestic Water Restrictions for town water and rural domestic water system users after three weeks of water issues perplexed residents.
Repairs have been completed at the Hester Creek Pumphouse and the request to limit irrigation water usage in Systems 4, 5, 6, and 7 (all properties south of Town) is now rescinded according to the town of Oliver.
Osoyoos is looking at an increased staggering of water demand through the adoption of “watering zones” in a bid to help reduce water consumption during peak periods as the town seeks to mitigate risks associated with the critically low water supply.
