The Town of Osoyoos is reminding residents that effective June 1 Osoyoos and Rural Water Districts 8 & 9 have moved to Stage 2 Water Restrictions.

Stage 2 Watering Restrictions allows for two days per week of lawn watering based on the town’s new three zone watering schedule.

• Zone 1: Mondays and Thursdays
• Zone 2: Tuesdays and Fridays
• Zone 3: Wednesday and Sundays

“Thank you for doing your part in preserving the limited water we have,” the town said in its eNews update.

Osoyoos is also in a regional competition alongside other municipalities and is asking for support from residents. Register for the Okanagan Waterwise “Make Water Work” Challenge. “Let’s show the region what Osoyoos is made of!”

3 zone water restrictions

Osoyoos now operates under a three zone water restriction system that helps to spread precious water resource demand ensuring supplies are not dangerously depleted.

Zone 1: All properties east of the bridge over Osoyoos Lake, extending to the northern, southern and eastern municipal boundaries
Zone 2: All properties west of the bridge over Osoyoos Lake, south to include the north side of 62 Avenue, and extending to the western and northern municipal boundaries. Includes Rural Water District System 8: rural properties to the north of town boundaries
Zone 3: Properties south of 62 Avenue, including the south side of 62 Avenue and extending to the western and southern municipal boundaries, including properties at the golf course. Includes: Rural Water District System 9: rural properties to the south of town boundaries, south to the US border
