Police have released this latest image of the suspect who robbed Spud’s Liquor Store in Oliver on June 8.

Police are looking for a male suspect who robbed Spud’s Liquor Store in Oliver on Sunday.

The Oliver RCMP responded to a panic/hold-up alarm at 6341 Main Street just after 3 pm on June 8.  While en route, members were updated by the complainant that the lone male had run away on Main Street, travelling north.

Police report the stocky suspect was described as approximately five feet, 10 inches tall and weighing about 260 pounds, with a noticeable mid-section. He was wearing grey sweat pants, a black ski mask, a black T-shirt with a rabbit head on it, and a black and grey backpack. A video image showed the suspect had long, dark hair with what appeared to be a ponytail. He was also wearing sunglasses.

The thief stole more than $1,200 from the cash register and fled once the panic alarm was set off.  No weapon was indicated in the robbery.

Police patrols were not successful in locating the suspect, however, video of the robbery was obtained and still photographs from that video were provided to the media. Police hope that information from the public may assist in solving this crime.
