Police had to use a distraction method and gas shell to force a man and woman out of a residence south of Oliver on Wednesday.

The Oliver RCMP contained a house on Primrose Lane (off Road 3) on December 14 to arrest a man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.

At approximately 5:30 pm, the Oliver RCMP confirmed the location of a wanted individual in the residence. Additional resources including the Southeast District Emergency Response team assisted in order to safely carry out the arrest of 23-year-old Dillon Côté, who was the subject of a Canada-wide parole revocation warrant.

Police say Côté and a female refused to exit the home until around 4 am, when police utilized a distraction method and gas shell to force them out. The pair was uninjured as a result.
