A violent home invasion involving firearms rocked a rural neighbourhood in Oliver on Monday.
The Oliver RCMP is investigating a targeted home invasion robbery which occurred on Dec. 12 at approximately 1 am in the 5000 block of Sunflower Street (off Road 5).
Police attended the South Okanagan Medical Clinic in Oliver and spoke to a couple who had been injured during the ordeal.
The victims advised police that three fully masked males, each with a firearm, forced their way into the home and tied the two victims up. Police say the female victim was “pistol whipped” resulting in serious head injuries. The male was not seriously injured in the incident.
The suspects ransacked the home and left. The victims subsequently made there way to hospital for treatment.
Investigators believe that the incident was a targeted event and not a random act.
The Oliver RCMP asks that if anyone has information regarding the incident, they should call 250-495-7236 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
