The Osoyoos Secondary School (OSS) Senior Girls volleyball team has progressed to the Provincial Championships to be held in Prince George on 1-3 December.
The Osoyoos girls were at the two-day Okanagan Valley championships vying for one of three slots to go the Provincials.
In the first day of the tournament on Friday the Rattlers placed third in their pool after two wins and a loss.
Saturday saw the team lose the semifinal match to the home-team Immaculata Regional High School (Kelowna) 25 to 18 and 25 to 20. “They played well and were deserving of the win,” said Head Coach, John Swanson.

The team then played Charles Bloom Secondary School (Lumby), needing the win if they were to keep their hopes of competing in the Provincials alive.
Swanson said it was a “well played” first set which saw the Rattlers take it 125 to 14 and then a “very tightly contested second set,” which Osoyoos won 28 to 26 putting them in third place for the tournament and securing the final spot for the Provincials.
“It was very well played between both teams with lots of great attacks in tips. We are now off to the Provincials in Prince George!” he added.
