Two ladies walked (and danced) away from this year’s Fireman’s Ball in Oliver sharing the $12,000 jackpot.
Britney Brown and Marnie Valla purchased a ticket together and “lady luck” was with them.
The Nov. 5 event at the community centre included a huge meal, plenty of dancing, entertainment, and a skit performed by local firefighters.
Chief Bob Graham said more than 300 people attended the affair, which helped raise money for the fire department’s training program.
The total funds raised will be tallied after all the bills have been paid, he said.
“The fire department is very happy with the results of the party,” Graham stated.
