Osoyoos is one of a number of communities in Boundary-Similkameen receiving a Small Community grant from the provincial government last week.
The town is getting $336,395, according to a news release issued last week on behalf of MLA Linda Larson.
This is the second of two annual payments. The town received $174,000 in April, said a spokesperson for the B.C. government caucus.
The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen has received a regional district grant of $112,797.
The June funds are part of almost $75.2 million being granted to municipalities and regional districts throughout the province. This amount consists of roughly half in Small Community and Regional District Grants and half in Traffic Fine Revenue Sharing Grants.
The Small Community and Regional District Grants are unconditional and local governments can spend them on infrastructure, administration and service delivery needs and priorities.
Traffic Fine Revenue Sharing Grants are tied to general safety initiatives such as policing or safety infrastructure, but municipalities can decide how to allocate it.
