A suspected lightning strike caused a small grass fire near High Chaparral Guest House on Patten Road on Monday morning. Oliver firefighters attended and didn’t take long to mop it up.
Oliver firefighters attended a small grass fire off Fairview-Patten Road on Monday morning.
Kelowna dispatch reported the fire at 409 Patten Road, in the area of High Chaparral Guest House. No smoke was observed from the road, but firefighters used water to “mop up” the suspected lightning strike.
No structures were reportedly threatened.
Last night’s thunder storm in the Okanagan saw numerous lightning strikes.
