Scores of local families were recently treated to a free night at the movies courtesy of Telus. The event, which included 805 residents, was held on November 15 and 16 at the Oliver Theatre in celebration of the company’s launch of its new fibre optic television and internet services.
Moviegoers were treated to a screening of the film Ender’s Game, popcorn, refreshments and a Telus swag bag containing a plush toy and literature about Optik TV and Telus Internet.
Telus officials were in town last week to announce that the service will be available to 95 per cent of the homes and businesses in Oliver.
Additionally, Telus will contribute $25 to the Frank Venables Theatre for every local customer who signs a contract subscribing to Optik TV, with Telus capping its contributions at $35,000. That campaign will run until May 8, 2014.
