A new sergeant has been named to command the Osoyoos RCMP Detachment.

Sgt. Randall Bosch is from Prince George and will be transferring to Osoyoos once he sells his house and completes the transfer process, said Cpl. Jason Bayda of Osoyoos RCMP.

“We’re looking forward to having him here and hoping the sale of his house goes quickly and smoothly so that we can get him down here and welcome him to our detachment,” said Bayda.

Bosch will replace Sgt. Kevin Schur, whose last day at Osoyoos was Tuesday. Schur’s appointment to a Kelowna-based leadership training position was announced last year, but his transfer from Osoyoos was delayed.

Motorhome stolen from secured compound

A motorhome was reported Sunday to have been stolen from a secured compound at Nk’Mip Campground.

Osoyoos RCMP said the vehicle is a 2010 Forest River model 450 that is grey and maroon in colour.

It appears the compound was broken into and that one of the windows, likely on the passenger side, was smashed to gain entry, police said.

The motorhome had an Alberta license plate.

Anyone with information about this or other crimes is asked to contact Osoyoos RCMP at 250-495-7236 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS. Calls to Crime Stoppers may be made anonymously.

Local RCMP officers are urging drivers to slow down and use extra care over the Easter long weekend as area highways and roadways across British Columbia promise to be very busy.
