With outlandish costumes and plenty of wine stops, the Half Corked Marathon isn’t your typical race. On Saturday, participants ran from winery to winery and finished with a celebration at Oliver Community Park. The event, which is hosted by the Oliver Osoyoos Winery Association and takes place every May, was recently named the best event in the country.
Runners started at Burrowing Owl Winery on Black Sage Road and made the 18-kilometre trek all the way to the park, stopping at over a dozen wineries along the way. They were greeted with a party at the finish line, complete with food trucks, more wine tasting and live music performed by Rebel Luv.
