The Osoyoos Desert Society is continuing its popular “Movie and an Expert” series with two remaining programs, each pairing a documentary film with a guest speaker.
On March 21 the film and speaker series continues with Extreme Animal Weapons, a documentary that examines claws, horns, stingers and more.
Hear from scientists as they work to unravel the mysteries of wildlife weaponry. The film will be followed by guest speaker Valerie Blow, Stewardship Officer with the Okanagan-Similkameen Stewardship Society. She will share fascinating facts about local snake species and bring along Nora the Gophersnake for a special animal presentation.
The third and final program, held on March 28, takes a close-up look at the egg and the secrets behind this amazing life support system.
Following the documentary The Egg: Life’s Perfect Invention, naturalist Sherry Linn will be on hand to talk about cavity nesting birds and her experiences working with bluebirds.
