Town council is considering supporting yet another non-medical cannabis shop in the downtown core.
Staff have recommended that council support Interior Cannabis Co. at 6234 Main Street (between Casa Luna and Auntie’ Ag’s Seafood Café).
The application must be supported by council before it is approved by the Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch.
The applicant has passed the “fit and proper” assessment with the province.
The public has been notified and nine feedback forms were submitted, six of which were in support and three not in support.
Director of Development Services Randy Houle said Interior Cannabis Co. will employ approximately two people with tentative store hours being from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week.
Houle noted that another proposed cannabis store is currently undergoing a fit and proper assessment: Tumble Weedz at 6276 Main Street.
