An early morning fire temporarily closed Crucetti’s Restaurant on Friday. The cause is still being investigated.
A Friday morning fire at Crucetti’s Restaurant has sparked an investigation to confirm the cause.
Rob Graham, media relations officer for the Oliver Fire Department, said alarms went off at approximately 2 am when someone reported seeing smoke coming from the premises.
Graham noted that a five-gallon drum caught fire in the back of the building, which caused some smoke damage.
Graham said it wasn’t determined what the drum contained. He noted that nobody was working in the restaurant at that hour.
An employee of the property manager told the Chronicle that the fire reportedly started in a bucket of rags.
Considering the time of day and the fact the business was not open, there will be an investigation, Graham said. He was asked if officials considered the fire as suspicious, but he said the investigation would shed more light on that.
The restaurant is closed until further notice while the damage is repaired.
