Anarchist Mountain Fire Department and Osoyoos RCMP received a call just after 7 p.m. on Nov. 14 reporting a commercial vehicle on its side just after the third curve heading up Hwy. 3 on Anarchist Mountain.
A semi-tractor trailer was found in the ditch upside down with the driver out of the vehicle and suffering only minor injuries. The 2006 Freightliner semi-truck was loaded with glass for recycling. Osoyoos RCMP said the eastbound truck rounded the hairpin corner and its load shifted, pulling the trailer off the road causing it to roll onto its side.
Efforts to upright and remove the truck began the morning of Monday, Nov. 15, but as of press time on the afternoon of Nov. 16 crews were still working to remove the semi-tractor trailer.
