Police are still investigating the collision in Peachland that took the life of Grant Wheeler from Oliver.

The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of an Oliver man
who died as a result of a motor vehicle accident in Peachland on June 4.

Grant Orville Wheeler, aged 81, was driving a Toyota northbound
on Highway 97 when his vehicle was involved in a collision with a southbound semi-trailer at Brent Road.

Wheeler was confirmed deceased at the scene of the incident. A passenger in the vehicle, reportedly his wife, was seriously injured in the incident and was transported to Kelowna General Hospital for treatment.

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate the fatality.

Corporal Joe Duncan said it is not known what caused the accident.

Wheeler, who had quite a sense of humour, was well known in Oliver, particularly on the ice where he often played recreational hockey.
