Three large fires on top of Secrest Hill Road north of Oliver prompted at least one 911 call this morning.
The fire department was notified by dispatch that a large fire was burning on top of the hill, but Fire Chief Bob Graham reported that he was aware of it, adding the fire was a “controlled burn.”
The Times-Chronicle investigated and learned that three separate piles of agricultural waste (prunings) were burning at the edge of a field.
The fire department was issued a cancellation page by dispatch and no further action was taken.
