An 81-year-old Osoyoos woman has passed away after a head-on crash in Nevada on Friday morning.

The woman’s husband was driving a Toyota Rav 4 in dense fog near Wells, Nevada, when he attempted to pass another vehicle, but collided head-on with a truck pulling a horse trailer.

The Nevada Highway Patrol identified the couple as Oscar and Maryann Vandenbossche of Osoyoos.

Maryann died at the scene and Oscar was airlifted to a hospital in Salt Lake City and is in critical condition.

The driver of the truck and the three horses in the trailer were not seriously injured.
