The beginning of 2016 has started on a quieter note for the Osoyoos Royalty team. We have been doing some things in the community as we prepare for the busy spring ahead.

Our biggest responsibility was at the Elks Lodge for bingo every Friday night. We called back the numbers, helped tidy tables, and overall, assisted in whatever the Elks might need.

It’s been a great way to get involved and meet old and new friends around town. I would really like to thank the Elks for having us and always being such a big supporter of our program.

Another event was the Snowflake Tea, at which Princess Tianna volunteered. She helped serve tea and coffee, cleared tables, and reset them with fresh goodies.

So many people from the community and many snowbirds attend this event.  A lot of yummy sandwiches and treats were enjoyed, as well as a silent auction and surprise grab bag table.

We would like to thank the Osoyoos United Church for inviting us to attend this tea.

Some very exciting news is that we now have our 2016 Royalty candidates.

There is still room for more girls if you would like to join us.

Princess Bailey, Princess Tianna, and I, along with the Royalty committee, are very excited to start working and getting to know the girls over the six months of candidacy.

We hope they have as much fun as we had, and we wish them the best.

I would like to thank the Royalty committee for everything they do and to welcome two new committee members that have joined us.

The reigning Royalty thanks you for deciding to be a part of the team and hopes you enjoy the time spent with us.

We are excited to get into some spring travelling and exploring more of B.C.

Thank you for all of your support.
