Dear Editor:
In April we traveled to your area to enjoy the blossoming trees and the views and to take a few hikes.
Osoyoos gets spring a few weeks ahead of the Shuswap and we got impatient and couldn’t wait any longer to visit your beautiful community.
We ended up spending the night at the Poplar Motel on the lake.
The weather was perfect.
We had a delicious meal at a nearby pub and very pleasant evening sitting on the beach enjoying the view of the mountains and their reflections in the lake.
The entire visit was delightful.
Everyone we met in Osoyoos was friendly and helpful.
You live in a beautiful and welcoming part of the province.
Soon after returning home, I realized that a pair of shoes had been left behind at the motel.
Less than a week after phoning Cindy, owner of the Poplar Motel, my shoes arrived in our mail box.
Cindy and Frank were not interested in being reimbursed for the expense or extra effort they went to in returning my shoes.
It was my carelessness that created the situation, but they solved the problem in a speedy and friendly manner.
We appreciate being treated that way and wanted to share our positive experience with the people in your lovely town.
We just wanted to take the time to write this letter to let everyone who lives in Osoyoos how much we enjoyed our recent trip and how much we appreciated the hospitality and the return of my shoes.
