Dear Editor:

Last month my daughter visited us from Montreal and we made the anticipated drive to Osoyoos to visit her grandfather, something we used to do when she lived here in the Lower Mainland.

During the last leg of our trip a warning light to check the brake pads of our vehicle came on putting a bit of a damper on the joy we were feeling.

Upon arriving mid-day on Thursday, we told her grandpa, Richard,  of our problem.

He picked up the phone and called Dean’s Garage in Osoyoos and Dean told us bring the car in and he would take a look at it.

Once at the garage, Dean promptly checked everything to ascertain the front brake pads needed to be replaced.

He made a quick phone call, said he would have the parts in the morning and could do the needed work sometime Friday.

A phone call about 11 a.m. on Friday let us know the car was ready.

What a relief since our planned return was Saturday.

Not only was the work done quickly and reasonably, we were not saddled with additional charges as often happens.

And as an added bonus, Dean fixed our trunk, which had not locked for over a month, at no charge.

I have to commend this local businessman for the good service we received and for his honesty in helping us.

Dean’s assistance was very much appreciated and we wanted everyone in Osoyoos to know what he did for us in our time of need and how much we appreciated his efforts during a stress ful time.

It’s nice to know there are business owners in small towns like Osoyoos who are willing to go above and beyond to assist complete strangers.

We just had to take the time to write this letter to let everyone in the community know what he did for us during our recent visit.
