Update:
RCMP say the victim of a fatal single vehicle car crash early Sunday morning was a 28-year-old man from Oliver.
“He had suffered fatal injuries and despite life saving efforts could not be revived. He was pronounced deceased at the scene,” said Oliver RCMP Cpl. Christina Tarasoff.
A collision analyst and reconstructionist are assisting in the investigation in determining the cause of the collision.
The name of the driver has not been released.

A single vehicle crash resulted in a fatality early this morning south of Oliver off of Highway 97 near Road 16.
Oliver Fire Department crews responded around 6:30 a.m. and were on scene for about 30 minutes, said spokesman Rob Graham.
“Crews worked to extricate the occupant from the vehicle,” Graham said. “The occupant was declared deceased at the scene by EHS.”
RCMP are investigating the cause of the crash.
