Tickets are still available for Romancing the Desert, the fundraiser that takes place at the Osoyoos Desert Centre this coming Saturday, Aug. 13.
That’s the word from Denise Eastlick, executive director of the Osoyoos Desert Society.
This year’s event will follow the format introduced last year in which the dinner takes place before the tour of the desert, she said.
“The feedback from the revised format was very positive and so that’s why we’re doing it again with the dinner first,” said Eastlick.
Although there will be no major format changes from last year, the theme of the tour changes every year, she said, noting that this year’s theme will mark the fact that the Desert Society is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
“The tour will share some fun historical highlights, for the habitat and for the society,” Eastlick said.
The entertainment also changes each year, and this year will be provided by Destin Liddiat from the Cawston-Keremeos area, she said. He’ll be bringing along a piano and also sings, including some original tunes.
Catering this year will be by Culinary Adventure and Chef Roger Planiden from Summerland.
Tickets are $70 per person and proceeds support the Osoyoos Desert Society. They can be ordered by phone at 250-495-2470 or by email at [email protected].
Romancing the Desert gets underway at 5:30 p.m. and it continues into the night.
