The 46th annual Oliver Arts and Craft Fair returns this year to fill the Oliver Community Hall with holiday treasures from woodturning and pottery to woven tableware and homemade jams.

Showcasing some of the best creative crafts made in the South Okanagan the annual fair is a great place for finding one-of-a-kind gifts for the holidays.

For 46 years Oliver’s ever-popular annual showcase has spotlighted the work of fine local artisans, makers, and craftspeople. And for the past 18 years two local residents, Klaudia Deschenes and Jen Allgeier, have volunteered to organize the event, connecting with the artisans, booking the hall, organizing rentals and a whole host of other responsibilities.

“It’s a lot of work but so worthwhile; it’s an important event for Oliver and especially for the artisans – the potters, quilters, soap makers, knitters, jewellers and more. There’s really such a variety and each year we’re happy to welcome new makers,” says Deschenes.

The over three dozen booths at the fair are all decorated with holiday sparkles and Oliver Eats will be in the kitchen preparing snacks and lunches for hungry holiday shoppers.

Admission is free and donations go to the Oliver Food Bank. This year the Oliver Arts and Craft Show is held over two days, Friday, November 17  from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Saturday, November 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Main Hall of the Oliver Community Centre at 6359 Park Drive, Oliver.
