The Nk’Mip Creek wildfire moderated slightly on Monday after erratic winds, high temperatures and low relative humidity have made the fire extremely volatile in the last week.
The BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) has implemented an Area Restriction Order for the vicinity of the Nk’Mip Creek wildfire, barring anyone other than authorized personnel from the area.
A wide swath from Mt. Baldy Ski Resort extending east as far as Conkle Lake Provincial Park has been placed under Evacuation Order by the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary (RDKB).
