The eagerly awaited (at least by some) Osoyoos Starbucks coffee outlet located next to the Your Dollar Store With More and across the parking lot from Save on Foods has opened its doors. The outlet – Store# 71586 – as it’s known in the Starbucks corporate universe opened officially on Tuesday, Oct. 9.
The coffee giant took over the space which sat vacant for a number of years after Interior Savings vacated the location. The building also came with an existing drive-thru.
While many locals expressed their delight on social media with the development others see it as an unwanted addition to the town’s food and beverage scene pitting a corporate giant against small locally owned businesses.
But as many have hastened to point out the chain outlet supports the town through taxes and employment and helps boost the tourist amenities in the town.
