Two drivers have crashed their cars through plate glass windows only days apart in Oliver and Osoyoos.
Joseph Hairstylists had an unexpected appointment on Tuesday afternoon at about 3:30 p.m. as a car mounted the curb, crossing the sidewalk before crashing through the glass of the shop at 8311 Main St. in Osoyoos.
Reports from those familiar with the accident indicate the driver suffered only wounded pride and no one in the shop was injured.
The incident follows a similar accident in Oliver last week when a car drove through the glass panels at the entrance to Kevin’s No Frills Oliver.

The driver in this case drove through the yellow banded accessibility walkway which has no concrete parking block. Don Urquhart photo.
In this particular case the driver drove into the accessibility walkway space demarcated by yellow lines (which does not have a concrete parking block), and failed to stop before crashing through the glass panels.
The driver’s condition is not known.
Discussion of the Osoyoos incident on social media highlighted the lack of concrete barriers posing a potential danger to those sitting in outdoor seating areas belonging to food and beverage outlets.
