Osoyoos RCMP are asking the public’s assistance in a hit and run incident on Nov. 11 just before 6 p.m. on Mount Baldy Road. A father and son had parked their truck on the shoulder of the road and were in the ditch cutting firewood in snowy conditions.

The pair saw a vehicle coming towards them fishtailing on the slippery road. The driver lost control of the vehicle and smashed into their parked truck before continuing on.

Immediately after the collision, the son noticed that his father was missing, subsequently locating him about 300 metres down the road. According to Sgt. Jason Bayda of the Osoyoos RCMP, the father had been struck by the out-of-control vehicle and dragged a considerable distance, resulting in non-life-threatening injuries.

The only description the pair could offer was that the car was a white hatchback, possibly a 2011-2014 model. They were unable to get the licence plate number.

The vehicle likely has damage to the headlights and right-hand side of the car, which is also described as having a loud muffler.

Anyone with information on the vehicle or its owner is asked to contact the Osoyoos RCMP.
