An Oliver man is one of two facing charges after police dogs tracked them down in Willowbrook on Tuesday.

Marcus Sheena from Oliver and Clayton Bone of Penticton are facing charges of break and enter, breaching their probation orders, prohibited driving and failure to stop at the scene of an accident.

A towing company in Oliver called police after its employees interrupted two men attempting to break into the compound, according to an RCMP statement.

“When the employees confronted the pair, they rammed into one of their tow trucks before driving away,” said Const. James Grandy.

One of the employees followed the suspects to the Willowbrook community, where RCMP said the suspect’s truck overheated and became inoperable.

The two men then fled on foot up a mountainside, at which time several police officers arrived, including two police dog service members.

Grandy said two separate police dog tracks were carried out, which resulted in both suspects being located and arrested.

Both were held in custody and appeared in provincial court in Penticton on March 11.
