Penticton RCMP have said a motor vehicle accident on Dec. 8 claimed the life of a 37-year-old male driver from Summerland.
A two-vehicle collision on Hwy. 97 near Lakehill Rd in Kaleden at about 5:17 p.m. closed the highway which was only opened again at about 2 a.m. according to DriveBC. All vehicles were detoured via Eastside Rd.
In a statement the RCMP said the collision involved an orange Honda Fit and a black Hyundai Santa Fe.
It’s not known what factors led to the collision but much of the Southern Okanagan were blanketed by heavy fog throughout much of Friday.
RCMP British Columbia Highway Patrol (BCHP) in Keremeos are conducting the investigation and are asking if anyone has information or dashcam video of the area at that time to please contact BCHP Keremeos at 250-499-2250.
