Premier Christy Clark delivered a speech in Oliver today, saying government is going to get out of the way so people can make a living and do business.

Clark was the guest speaker at Silver Sage Winery where the South Okanagan Chamber of Commerce hosted a luncheon. She was also accompanied by several cabinet ministers.

The premier was quick to say that it’s not government that builds BC, it’s the people, including single parents, truck drivers and teachers. She noted that government will help single parents get off the treadmill of social assistance by paying for their retraining, transportation and childcare, if necessary.

“No more barriers,” Clark said.
