Hello! Over the last few months Princess Ali, Princess Amara and I have been enjoying participating in various activities in our community.

Getting back to school has also kept us very busy.

On October 15 we were welcomed with open arms to the Cactus Ridge Retirement Residence. Princess Amara, Princess Ali and I gave our long speeches (which were a judged event in May). We also spoke of our time as candidates and the travelling we have done so far.

The residents were delighted to have us come and the feeling was mutual.

The Miss Nanaimo Ambassador Pageant was a weekend full of fun October 17-19. We had the honour of having one of the three British Columbia Ambassadors travel with us.

The ferry ride to Nanaimo showed the magnificent beauty of Vancouver Island. On the ferry, we shopped in the gift shop and also visited with various other ambassadors who were also on their way to the pageant.  On Friday, the candidates gave their speeches about a local senior, which were short and sweet, as there were quite a few candidates.

In the morning on Saturday, the Ambassadors had the privilege of enjoying indoor rock-climbing. We all had an amazing time on this adventure. Dinner was served at Beban Park with an elegant meal and fancy desserts.

We were all excited to see the coronation of the new Ambassadors. Princess Amara, Princess Ali and I were sad to say goodbye to the retiring Nanaimo ambassadors, but we look forward to getting to know the new girls. Princess Ali, Princess Amara, Mr. New Denver, B.C. Ambassador Julie and I tasted deep fried Nanaimo bars, which tasted like a little piece of heaven. Nanaimo is a beautiful area of B.C. and we are glad we had the opportunity visit this place.

On October 25, the Osoyoos Royalty Program held our annual Fall Tea and Fair. Vendors came from all over to share their passions. Some of the vendors included Avon, Watkins, jams and jellies, Purdy’s, Epicure and jewelry too.

On the previous day, we had made hundreds of tiny sandwiches and at the fair, served them with sweets, tea and coffee.

Thank you to everyone for coming out to support the tea.

During the month of November we have several fundraisers. We are selling Purdy’s Chocolates and taking orders for samosas and meat.

Please talk to one of the current Osoyoos Royalty members or call Cathie Baskett at 250-495-5174 for more information or order forms.

Princess Ali, Princess Amara, and I have been kept busy and we are grateful for all the opportunities with being an ambassador for the beautiful Town of Osoyoos.
