The opening date of the Oliver and District Community Pool has been delayed until further notice following the detection of a leak in the main pool system that is causing the water volume to decrease by approximately 19,000 litres per day.
It added that staff will be working in the coming days to determine the source of the leak and establish what repairs will be required.
The scope and timeline for the pool repairs will impact when the Oliver and District Community Pool can be opened to the public for the 2024 season. In the meantime, all lessons, classes and public swimming will be postponed until further notice. Registered participants will receive communication directly regarding the postponement of classes.
“We appreciate your cooperation and patience as we work to open the Oliver and District Community Pool for the 2024 season. Additional updates will be communicated as they are available,” the town said.
Residents are advised to contact Oliver and District Recreation at 250.498.4985 for further information.
