The Town of Oliver announced today that it has selected a new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) following what it said was a comprehensive recruitment process.
Council selected Joe McCulloch as the new administrative head for the Town of Oliver, taking over from Wayne Anderson, who announced his retirement in early March, effective end-June.
Anderson joined in May 2022, first as Chief Financial Officer and then CAO.
McCulloch most recently served as CAO for the District of Lillooet and as Operations Manager for the District of Sicamous. The Town added that he also brings many years of local government experience in Scotland.
As CAO, he will be responsible for overseeing the Town’s day-to-day operations, implementing Council’s strategic priorities, and ensuring effective, efficient, and accountable municipal administration, the Town said.
Mayor Martin Johansen welcomed the selection, noting that Council is confident McCulloch’s “experience and leadership will be a strong asset to the organization and the broader community”.
“Council is pleased to welcome Joe to the Town of Oliver,” said Mayor Johansen. “We look forward to working together as we continue to advance Council’s priorities and serve our residents.”
Commenting on his new appointment, McCulloch said, “I am honoured to join the Town of Oliver and work alongside Council and staff. I look forward to supporting this vibrant community and contributing to its continued success.”
McCulloch will begin his role as CAO effective July 20, 2026.
The Town also expressed its appreciation to John Kurvink, Interim CAO, for his service and contributions during the transition period.
