The Town of Oliver has issued a Boil Water Advisory due to what it says was a mechanical failure at Rockcliffe Well in which non-chlorinated water entered into the Town of Oliver’s water distribution system.
The town said that “out of an abundance of caution” it is issuing the advisory for all water systems (pictured below in red).
The Boil Water Advisory will remain in effect until further notice.
The town is advising to take the following precautions:
• Boil water used for drinking purposes, for at least one minute at a rolling boil, prior to use;
• Boil water for activities where it may be ingested;
• Do not drink from any public drinking fountains in the affected area;
• People may use the water for washing and bathing;
• Ensure that younger children and infants are sponge bathed.
VoyentAlert! Emergency notifications will be issued by the town as required. The town urges all residents to sign up for VoyentAlert! notifications to stay informed.
