The start of the curling season is still more than a month away, but those in charge at the Oliver Curling Club are busy preparing for the start of the season at the Eastlink Curling Centre.
The club sent its curling rinks away at the end of last season to have the inserts replaced. The rocks came back to the club Sept. 5, and the difference was very noticeable. The striking surface on each rock is now much thinner, allowing for more-active rocks during game action.
Ice maker Norm Card was at the club this past Friday, inspecting the new rocks, and preparing them for staff to begin assembly in preparation for the start of the season.
