The Oliver Fire Department responded to multiple reports of a brush fire in the area of Hemlock St. and Pine Ave. on Sept. 9 at approximately 5:22 p.m.
Crews on scene found the fire to be burning off of the Hike and Bike Path near that location with the OFD saying a social media post that its firefighters were quick to action the fire and limit the spread to a 21 x 46 metre area.
“There was no threat to life or property, no cause has been determined at this time,” the OFD said.
Crews responded with two command vehicles , two bush vehicles, one water tender and an engine with a total 16 personnel on site.
