Two occupants had to be extricated from a vehicle this morning after a rollover on Fairview Road in Oliver.

Firefighters, police and ambulance were called to 1422 Fairview Road just past Sumac Street after 10 a.m. when a vehicle was found on its roof.

The Times Chronicle learned from police that a 27-year-old driver and another occupant were trapped inside and had to be extricated by firefighters and paramedics. They were taken to South Okanagan General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Oliver RCMP Sgt. Don Wrigglesworth said the car was driving west on Fairview when it lost control around a corner.

“Speed was a factor and drug use has not been ruled out,” he said, adding the investigation is ongoing.
