A 26-year-old motorcyclist was killed in an accident Sunday morning on Highway 97 at the north end of Osoyoos.

The RCMP’s South Okanagan Traffic Services said the accident occurred around 9:10 a.m. when the northbound motorcycle collided with the driver’s side of a car pulling out of a service station.

The motorcyclist was from Penticton and the driver of the car is a 53-year-old resident of Osoyoos.

Both the motorcyclist and the car driver were taken to hospital with injuries. The motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries. The car driver’s injuries are believed to be minor, police said.

South Okanagan Traffic Services is investigating. Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call them at 250-499-2250.
