Local doctor resigns
It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that as of July 1, 2020, I will no longer be providing medical services at the Oliver Family Health Clinic. This follows my fulfillment of a two-year return of service contract, which was completed in the fall of 2019.
When my family and I moved to Oliver, we were warmly welcomed into the community and have enjoyed many of the gifts this little town has to offer. We have now made the difficult decision to re-locate to be closer to family and friends.
Over the past six months I have heavily advocated to recruit a replacement physician, but unfortunately this has been unsuccessful to date. It is also not feasible for my colleague, Dr. Evans, to assume responsibility for your care as he is already at his capacity. I can assure you that other local physicians, the Interior Health Authority and the Divisions of Family Practice are actively developing strategies to help recruit and retain physicians to the South Okanagan.
They are also looking into transition and re-assignment options for high-needs patients with active and acute medical care needs to prevent gaps in care. More detailed information on how to register for another family doctor as well as how to access personal lab and test results can be found at our office.
Thank you again for your patience and understanding throughout this challenging process. I wish all of you the very best in the future.
Dr. Andrew Daly,
Oliver Family Health Clinic
