Dear Editor:
Our local RCMP detachment seems to have generated a lot of negative feelings in the community lately.
They are understaffed and overworked in the summer tourist season, and perhaps the residents feel they are not receiving adequate service.
Based on my recent interaction with our police, this is not the case.
Last weekend my pickup was stolen from my driveway in the middle of the afternoon. I immediately called the RCMP to report the theft, and within five minutes, Constable Sidhu arrived to get my information about the circumstances.
During the whole experience, until my truck was recovered two days later, he kept me apprised of their progress. His attitude was one of a caring professional and highly competent member of our force.
Again, THANK YOU.
Bill Robertson,
Osoyoos, B.C.
