The Oliver Legion has sought endorsement from the Town of Oliver to host a two-day car show in Lions Park on July 4-5.
Legion member Peter McKenna addressed council recently asking for an endorsement of their car show, sponsored in part by Oliver’s Coachmasters Car Club.
McKenna said they have up to 125 to 150 cars registered for the event, which will feature a “poker run” and an Alan Jackson tribute band.
McKenna said they have Vancouver car owners wanting to show their vehicles at this event. In addition, approximately 20 spots have been secured at Centennial RV Park, he pointed out.
Councillor Jack Bennest said he will support anything that brings tourists and visitors to town.
