On August 25-29 the Keremeos Grist Mill and Gardens will again be the site of a 9 am to noon week-long theatre camp for youngsters eight to 12 years old.
The Grist Mill Gang Theatre Company will conduct improvs, act out roles, enjoy theatre games and develop characters for a play presentation happening at the Grist Mill at 11 am on Friday, Aug. 29.
Registration for the day camp is free and funded through provincial gaming proceeds.
The contact number is 250-499-2352, local 107. Deadline is noon on August 18. Registration is limited.
The summer kids theatre program is in its seventh year. It comes out of Similkameen Family Literacy whose goal is the “enjoyment and good use of language in read, heard, written and spoken communication for all age groups.”
This August, senior participants, 13 years and up, are welcome to join in as volunteers to support the younger participants and to take part in the final production.
Youngsters under eight years can attend while in the care and supervision of an adult caregiver. Those under eight can join in with the older group as their abilities allow.
Inquiries go to Dave Cursons at Similkameen Family Literacy at 250-499-2352, local 107.
