An impaired motorist from Penticton left “signs” that he was in Oliver last Friday.
On April 29 police assisted firefighters and paramedics in response to a single vehicle accident in the 8400 block of Highway 97.
Witnesses reported that the driver of a 2018 blue Chevrolet Cruz was driving unsafely, passing on double solid lines and colliding with a number of signs and posts.
The 45-year-old male driver was found to be intoxicated and suffered minor injuries, according to police. He was subsequently issued a 90-day immediate roadside driving prohibition and his vehicle was impounded.
He was transported to the hospital for further medical assessment.
In another impaired driving incident on April 30, Osoyoos Indian Band security called the Oliver RCMP about an impaired driver in a Chev Avalanche on McKinney Road.
Police located the 49-year-old male resident of Oliver in the driver’s seat and found him to be intoxicated while in care and control of a motor vehicle.
The driver was issued a 24-hour driving prohibition, the vehicle was impounded, and he was driven home by police.
