A farm worker in Oliver was injured Thursdays after an ATV quad rolled onto him.
Oliver Fire Department spokesman Rob Graham said the worker was loading a quad in a trailer when the ramp slid resulting in the ATV rolling onto him. Graham noted the individual managed to call for assistance but there was a delay due to 911 issues. The initial reported location was Lupine Road near Nostalgia winery, but then a Black Hills Road address was given.
On May 5, E-Comm was made aware of a 9-1-1 system disruption (outage) that impacted callers in the Okanagan-Similkameen region. But since then 911 service has resumed.
The farm worker suffered undetermined injuries and was treated by paramedics.
At the same time this occurred, firefighters were called to another incident on Black Sage Road where a vehicle went into a ditch, No injuries were reported.
