If you finished last Saturday’s Freak’n Farmer race in Oliver, you might be ready for full-tine farming. Or maybe not.

Hundreds flocked to Covert Farms on Sept. 21 to take part in the annual obstacle race that turned many greenhorns into temporary warriors, complete with battle cries.

They flipped tractor tires, swung across mud pits (minus the alligators), ran through corn fields and crawled under barbed wire like Solid Snake in Metal Gear.

But there were a few wimps in the crowd who stepped over the logs instead of swimming under them. But you can’t really blame them.

One thing was certain: it was damn fun. And who knows, the race may have created a few new farmers in B.C. But we’re not holding our breath.
