The Legion has officially presented the first Poppy of the 2014 Remembrance Day campaign.
Chris Yerburgh of the Oliver Legion was in attendance to pin the first poppy on the chest of Mayor Ron Hovanes at the Cenotaph in Downtown Oliver this morning.
Also in attendance were Town councillors Mo Doerr, Larry Schwartzenberger and Dave Mattis.
The Poppy Campaign officially kicks off Friday, Oct. 31.
Remembrance Day ceremonies take place at the cenotaph in Downtown Oliver Nov. 11.
